First, thank you to Triangle Startup Weekend 2012 sponsors and organizers for providing the event where Wanderful formed.
Wanderful, one the teams from Triangle Startup Weekend April 2012, is debuting it’s mobile and web applications at the Durham Arts Council’s 38th Annual CenterFest Arts Festival in downtown Durham, NC on Sept. 15 and 16. Wanderful is a sponsor of CenterFest.
The Wanderful mobile application lets users explore and share local history and culture on mobile devices, and the new app also will provide a mobile experience for CenterFest festival participants. We encourage you to download the app and come visit us at CenterFest this weekend, where we’ll have a booth.
Wanderful is working with several local organizations to enrich the exploration and sharing of local history and culture in Durham, including the Museum of Durham History and the Durham Arts Council. Historical and cultural content for the mobile application is provided by OpenDurham.org, a highly interlinked archive of information about people, places, and history in Durham, and by TriangleWiki.org, a free, openly-editable, community-centric website for local history, media, and opinions.
Wanderful is currently a team in Groundwork Labs, a community-driven startup accelerator located in the American Underground on the American Tobacco campus in Durham, NC.
The Wanderful mobile application is available for free download in the Apple store and Android market. The Wanderful mobile and web applications are both available at http://wanderful.co.
