F. Scott Moody is the founder of First Talent Ventures, which focuses on advising, mentoring and investing in early stage startups in the Southeast as well as Rwanda. Prior to founding First Talent, Scott was the co-founder and former Chairman/CEO of AuthenTec, a leading provider of security and identity management solutions. AuthenTec was acquired in 2012 by Apple, making it the only public company ever acquired by Apple. As the CEO of AuthenTec, Scott raised over $70 million in venture capital (including such investors as Sierra Ventures, The Carlyle Group, TI, Stonehenge Growth Capital and China Development Bank) and led the company’s successful IPO (NASDAQ). Focusing on the PC and cell phone industries, Scott helped grow the Company from the original two co-founders to over 300 employees with development centers in Melbourne, Fl., Shanghai, China and Vught, The Netherlands. Prior to founding AuthenTec, Scott was the Vice President of a $200 million division of Harris' Semiconductor Sector (now Intersil) where he started as a new graduate engineer in 1980.

Over the years Scott has been featured on TV and in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, CNBC, Entrepreneur, New York Times, Fortune and others. He is a frequent speaker at investor, corporate and university events on both innovation and entrepreneurship.

Scott received a BSIE from North Carolina State University and an executive MBA from the University of Florida.

Mark Easley

Mark Easley has been advising startups in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina since 2000 after a 25 year technology career in engineering, marketing, and sales in Silicon Valley. Mark has experience in the semiconductor business and related software and development tool products. In addition to his startup advisor activities, he has been on the executive board of a Raleigh/Durham area angel investor group and is a member of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development. Mark has also been a leader in bringing investment crowdfunding to North Carolina as part of the NC JOBS Act of 2013 team.

Jason Massey

Jason has worked with hi-tech startups over the last 10 years as a venture capitalist, founder, angel and advisor. He helped lead over 40 investments with $200 million in funds across a variety of sectors including energy, manufacturing, and telecommunications in Silicon Valley.

Today, Jason continues to advise startups including Mission Motors, the developer of electric powertrain systems and the fastest electric motorcycle. He guest lectures on hi-tech entrepreneurship at NCSU and Duke as well as regularly judging business plan competitions such as Stanford’s Social eChallenge.

Jason studied Physics and Finance at NC State and later studied Mandarin at Stanford and Peking University. His work in China ultimately led him to help launch Al Gore’s The Climate Project in Beijing. Recently Jason has participated in Richard Branson's Carbon War Room in London and Berlin developing market driven solutions for a low carbon economy.

His passion for sustainability goes back to his days as an Eagle Scout but has evolved from a passion to a mission with the birth of his children and his desire to leave behind a better world for future generations. SIS is the culmination of his entrepreneurial drive to “do good and do well.”

Eric Teague

Eric has created several companies focusing on technology, professional services and real estate. A licensed CPA, Eric began his career as an associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). His entrepreneurial spirit and natural leadership capabilities, led him to serve as a director in global capital markets and transaction services, where he gained experience advising major U.S corporations and private equity firms on transaction structures, cross-border M&A deals and complex accounting matters.
Eric co-founded and served as the managing partner for TeagueRossCapital (TRC), a private equity firm specializing in turnarounds and distressed asset investments. During his career at TRC, Eric redeveloped the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base in South Carolina, which sold for more than $80 million. Following the success of this project, Eric conducted strategic investments in biotechnology, biometric feedback, home security, commercial real estate, human resources services, advertising and golf course development.

In 2004, Eric created Wavelength Corporation, a firm specializing in designing, manufacturing and servicing broadband and wireless Internet, and providing cable video solutions for the multifamily housing market. While still leading and growing Wavelength Corporation in 2006, Eric cofounded Litchfield Residential, where he acquired, developed and sold more than $30 million of residential real estate on the South Carolina coast. After the sale of Wavelength Corporation to Pavlov Media in 2010, Eric served as Pavlov’s chief business development officer and executive vice president. Reporting directly to the CEO, Eric managed sales and customer service activities until he left the company in 2011 co-creating i2 shortly after this departure.

With his work, Eric has spent tours in New York City, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Germany, Amsterdam, Netherlands and Glasgow, Scotland, and managed more than 30 initial public offerings and several mergers. Eric currently holds various patents pending for new forms of mobile banking technology. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Business Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and plans to complete the program in 2013. He resides in Raleigh with his wife and high school sweetheart, Cindy, and their three children.

Todd Mosier

On a daily basis he strives to make things just a bit more usable.

While not founding companies or trying to understanding users at a deeper level his spare time is spent either playing beach volleyball or the never ending quest of the perfect curry recipe.

Justin Miller

Justin is the CEO and Co-Founder (and Mexican food junkie) of deja mi Inc. the parent company of WedPics. WedPics, the content generation/sharing platform for weddings, has brought a significant social disruption into a dated $100B+ US industry! After launching in late 2012, the WedPics team has built their foundation on the consumption of analytics and metrics, resulting in the acquisition of ~5% of the US Wedding Market and over a quarter million wedding guests sharing one photo every two seconds!

Prior to launching WedPics, Justin and his team's pilot app was 'deja mi' a location-based photo/video sharing app. Deja mi experienced some early success through Apple, and they secured revenue generating partnerships with Corporate giants like IBM and Lenovo.

Justin has a bachelors in Graphic design from the College of Design at NC State University, and was an art director at IBM for 7 years prior to leaving to pursue the life of a start-up.
