F. Scott Moody is the founder of First Talent Ventures, which focuses on advising, mentoring and investing in early stage startups in the Southeast as well as Rwanda. Prior to founding First Talent, Scott was the co-founder and former Chairman/CEO of AuthenTec, a leading provider of security and identity management solutions. AuthenTec was acquired in 2012 by Apple, making it the only public company ever acquired by Apple. As the CEO of AuthenTec, Scott raised over $70 million in venture capital (including such investors as Sierra Ventures, The Carlyle Group, TI, Stonehenge Growth Capital and China Development Bank) and led the company’s successful IPO (NASDAQ). Focusing on the PC and cell phone industries, Scott helped grow the Company from the original two co-founders to over 300 employees with development centers in Melbourne, Fl., Shanghai, China and Vught, The Netherlands. Prior to founding AuthenTec, Scott was the Vice President of a $200 million division of Harris' Semiconductor Sector (now Intersil) where he started as a new graduate engineer in 1980.
Over the years Scott has been featured on TV and in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, CNBC, Entrepreneur, New York Times, Fortune and others. He is a frequent speaker at investor, corporate and university events on both innovation and entrepreneurship.
Scott received a BSIE from North Carolina State University and an executive MBA from the University of Florida.
Anil Chawla is the founder and CEO of ArchiveSocial, a social media archiving company that enables businesses to automate record keeping of activity on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Prior to founding ArchiveSocial, Anil was a lead engineer at IBM responsible for developing enterprise security software and Big Data analysis solutions. He has more than 10 years of experience creating software products, and has spent last the 4 years developing social media technology. He is the creator of Tweetymail , the leading email-to-Twitter solution with more than 30,000 users worldwide. Anil founded ArchiveSocial on the premise that businesses face important legal and regulatory challenges that extend far beyond traditional social media management. He and his work have been featured in prominent publications including TechCrunch, LifeHacker, VentureBeat, The Next Web, Fast Company, InformationWeek, and Entrepreneur.com. Anil received a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.
